ABOUT US

Enugu State Agricultural Development Program (ENADEP) is Enugu State Parastatal that is an extension and advisory arm of Enugu State Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources.

ENADEP emanated from Agriculture Development Programme in Nigeria. Agriculture Development Programme in Nigeria acts as a vehicle in which the donor - assisted and Federal Government Agricultural projects come into the thirty -six ( 36) State.

ENADEP was established by the Enugu State Edict No 1 of 1992, after bifurcation from the old Anambra State Agricultural Development Programme (ASADEP) in 1991, and under multistate Agricultural Development Programme 1 (.MSADP-1) MS- ADP-1.

Nationally commenced operation in 1987 under the sponsorship of the World Bank ( International Bank for Rural Development (IBRD) ENADEP 's goal is to plans and implement new agricultural projects aim to increase agricultural production and raise the standard of living of rural farmers through the application of modern-proven technologies and innovations.

ENADEP collaborates with research institutes, federal, state and Local government agricultural agencies, World Bank Institutions, and other international organizations to train farmers through extension programme.

Our History

Enugu State Agricultural Programme is one of the 36 States Agricultural Development Programmes (ADPs) in Nigeria aimed at increasing agricultural production and improving farmers' conditions. Some early important features of ADPs were the contruction of road infrastructures within farming areas. ADPs were also making provisions for water for animals and crops, provision for extension services, market access, credit facilities for farmers.

Our Mission

To facilitate increased in agricultural production in Enugu State, to increase the income of farmers in Enugu State, and to raise the standard of living of rural population, thereby, creating jobs and reducing poverty in Enugu State.

Our Vision

To be one of the effective and efficiently managed agricultural development institution with well supported performance-oriented extension services capable of motivating the farmers to adopt innovative technologies to increase food production and income.

Best Farming Process

Best farming and harvesting progress is as result of well- established agricultural extension services. Extension services help farmers to follow the trend in modern agricultural inputs application for planting, harvesting, post harvest, and market access. ENADEP encourages the formation of farmers'associations on all categories of agricultural value chain.

How to use tractor for farming

Agricultural Mechanization and Tractor Rental : The use of tractors in farming has revolutionize agricultural mechanism. Mechanization of agriculture will encourage the youth to go into farming More youth in farming will increase productivity, reduce unemployment, and will bridge the gap and replenish the aging population. ENADEP is looking forward to partner with tractor service providers to facilitate farmer's access to agricultural mechanization.

Students Practice Agricultrure

Promotion of Agriculture in Schools in Enugu State: The concept behind promotion of agriculture in schools is to expose young people to farming and stimulate their interest in agriculture. ENADEP wishes to partner with schools to establish demonstration farms as ways of increasing productivity in agriculture.
